With the advent of the giclee, the art of fine art Printing
has become even more precise. The giclee process combines
advanced computing and printing technology. Given the nature
of the process it gives the artist much more control over
the reproduction and the end result. The printing process
begins with the artist original piece of artwork that is captured
through highly sophisticated digital imaging and then taken
through an in-depth digital printing process.
Because no screens are used, the prints have a higher apparent
resolution than lithographs. The dynamic color range is like
that of a serigraphy.
In the giclee process, the inking system encapsulates
each pigment particle in an acrylic polymer which makes
the particle spherical shaped and more uniformed in drop
sizes, resulting in better coverage and gives color images
an even light reflection. A fine stream of ink; of more
than four million droplets per second; is sprayed on to
archival art paper. The effect is similar to an airbrush
technique but much finer. Exact calculations of hue, value
and density direct the ink of six nozzles. This produces
a combination of 512 chromatic changes (with over 3 million
colors possible) of highly saturated pigment-based inks.
Resolution of 1440-by-720 which when combined with variable
droplet particles as small as 0.1 micron, produces virtually
continuous-tone quality, the micro Crystal encapsulation
technology and new archival papers, produces artist quality
prints, with claims that the colors will remain stable for
up to two centuries.
The artist' color approval and input are essential for creating
the final custom setting for the edition.
Displaying a full color spectrum, giclee captures every
nuance of an original painting- be it watercolor or oil
- and have gained widespread acceptance from artist and
collectors. The giclee should be treated like any other
piece of fine art on paper. They should be protected from
excessive light, moisture, and heat.
We use museum-quality, acid-free conservation paper, UV
resistant ink, and UV-Moisture- Smudge resistant coatings
for extra protection
